New members are welcomed to Durham City AC who have thisattractive four lake fishery on their books. The 12-acre site has the West Lake with carp to 25lb, tench to alb 8oz, roach to alb, small perch and some decent pike. East Lake has much the same fish content but the carp top 18lb.

Canal is stocked with carp to alb, tench to alb, ide to 1lb 8oz, crucians to 8oz plus F1s, perch roach and skimmers. Backwater has carp to 8lb plus rudd, tench and loads of perch.

It's strictly members only, Durham AC fees are; adult £50, OAP's, registered disabled and students £35, intermediates (16-19 years) £20, under 16s £10. A member can buy a guest ticket. Members can night fish with the appropriate permit. Disabled access. Barbless hooks only. Enquiries 0191 386 6000.

From Durham head north on the A167 to Pity Me. Turn right at the roundabout, go straight on at the next one and turn right at the next roundabout. At the next roundabout turn left. Keep on this road, go under the rail bridge and turn left just past the prison on the right.
