This privately owned, intriguingly irregular shaped lake spans around 4 acres of water and averages out at 4ft deep. It's a mixed fishery with carp to 41lb, some in the 30lb range and a good head of 20s - in fact the average size would hover around the 20lb mark. The venue also contains quality tench, pike and other species.
The bigger carp show to float fished tactics, although legering has its obvious claims. In the summer months try a bait like pellet, boilies, paste, slow sinking bread or the like at 2ft deep right in the margins or to the island sills. Given the right time of year and a warm day, floater fishing can be extremely successful.
Night fishing by prior appointment only. Disabled access. Barbless hooks only. No keepnets. Food outlets nearby. Open all year.
To get there, from Norwich take the B1150 to Horstead. Pass over the rail bridge and keep left towards North Walsham. Turn left into Hautbois Road, pass the church and the entry to the fishery is well signed, on your left.
