Lakeland Fishery offers two well-kept, platformed, disabled friendly day ticket lakes and a rare chance of joining a syndicate on the adjoining 5.5acre lake.
Lily and Wood are both similarly stocked, with carp to 20lb, tench and bream to 8lb, perch to 5lb, roach, rudd and ide to 2lb plus chub, barbel and plenty of skimmers. The Syndicate Lake is home to carp to 44lb and quality tench.
On Lily, feeder fish to the island with double red maggot for the carp. On both day ticket lakes, float fish soft pellet for mixed catches of carp, tench and silver fish. Corn in the margins can sort out some of the better carp. Maggot, caster, luncheon meat, worm or paste are all good baits too. On the Syndicate Lake, leger hair-rigged boilies or halibut pellets for the carp.
Day permits are £8 for one rod or £10 for two; half day permits from 1pm in winter or 3pm in summer are £6. U16s and OAPs are £6 (no concessions at weekends or on Bank Holidays), and they apply from 7am til dusk. All u16s must be adult accompanied. Disabled access. Barbless hooks. No cat or dog food. Keepnets will be supplied if necessary. Enquire about the syndicate membership (night fishing is allowed), which starts on May 1. Open all year.
Come off the A12 at the Hatfield Peverel turn off, onto the B1137. At the Duke of Wellington pub, turn onto Maldon Road, B1019, signed Maldon. After 0.75 miles turn into Wickham Bishops Road and the fishery is 0.5 miles on the right.
