UKCF is on a distinguished road
Default Wydon Water, Hexham, Northumberland

Address - Wydon Water, Wydon Park, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46
Tel: (01434) 607610
SatNav: NE46 2DA (nearby properties)
Ticket Prices - £5 (in advance)
Stock - Mixed coarse, including tench, crucians and roach

Controlled by Hexham AA this former reservoir has been completely refurbished and is a welcome and needed addition to the area. There's disabled access and fishing is from 18 purpose built platforms. The Dam end is the deepest at 8ft with sport availoable from tench to 3lb, roach with some quality fish to 1lb 8oz, plus crucians and rudd to 8oz.

Float fishing is probably the best but it can be worth trying a bit of ledgering. Fish simple tactics and simple baits like corn for the tench. The other species can be caught on bread, maggot and caster. The more adventurous might want to try seed baits for the bigger roach.

Day tickets are, in advance only, £5 adults with concessions. They are available from Gojo Video and Records, Battle Hill, Hexham, NE46 1BB or Top Tackle, Bridge End, Hexham, NE46 4JH. A special Hexham AA season permit is available for this water only, at £25 adults with concessions. Disabled access, barbless hooks only, food outlets nearby. Open all year.

To get there, go through Hexham town centre, heading west. Pass a church on your left, then take the next left to the end. Turn left again and the car park is off Wydon Park on your right.
