This former quarry pit, spanning an acre and a half, is now a well established mixed fishery. Depths go to about 20ft but the bottom is littered with depressions and mounds. Carp are present to specimen size, whilst other species are also present including large winter pike.

All the permissible general carp tactics apply at West Farm. Leger various flavours, makes and sizes of boilie or a large halibut pellet over a few free offerings. Method feeder is another tactic that works well, with baits like sweetcorn and paste worth trying. In the winter try float fishing or legering a sea deadbait for pike.

Day tickets can be purchased on the bank at £5. Night fishing by prior appointment only at an extra £5. No carp or specimen sized fish in keepnets. Barbless hooks only. Disabled access. Food outlets nearby.

From Stockton-on-Tees take the A177 towards Sedgefield. Turn left and follow the signs to Stillington and continue on towards Great Stainton. Pass West Farm on your left and take the next left, down the track, to the lake where there is bankside parking. Please keep the gate closed at all times.
