Chard DAC control the fishing, in between the boundary markers, on this 49 acre reservoir. This excellent venue is well known locally, especially for carp and bream. Carp run to 34lb and the bream are pushing double figures. There are also eels to 6lb and a large head of roach, some to 2lb. Tench are something of a rarity but run to 7lb, and the water is home to some very big pike, over 20lb.
Day tickets are £10 for 24 hours, starting from 8am. Members pay £8 for 24 hours, also from 8am. Chard DAC full permits are £20, OPA's £12 or under 16s £10. All permits available from Barrons, 2 Hollyrood Street, Chard, or they can be purchased on the bank.
Food is available, there is disabled access and toilets. Barbless hooks only, carp must not be kept in keepnets or sacks.
From Chard take the A358 heading north. Turn right on the Chaffcombe Road and the car park is 50 metres past the old recycling depot.
