The privately owned Birkin Fisheries prides itself in the pristine condition of it's stocks. There are two waters, the larger a canal type 58-peg lake with widths to around the 15m mark. This one is home to carp to 16lb, avaeraging 3 to 6lb, bream to 4lb with lots of skimmers, tench to 3lb 8oz, chub to 3lb, roach to 1lb 8oz, a large head of crucians to 1lb plus rudd to 1lb.

The 13 peg smaller pool has carp to 12lb, tench to 3lb 8oz, golden tench to 2lb and rudd to 1lb 8oz.

Tickets are £5 across the board and can be purchased on the bank. All u16s must be adult accompanied. Disabled access. Barbless hooks only. No keepnets. Toilets on site. Food outlet nearby. All fish to be landed using a landing net. Open all year.

From J33, M62 pick up the A162. Turn right at the mini-roundabout onto Sutton Lane and continue on to Birkin. Turn left at the T junction then right into Haddesley Road and the fishery is signed on the right.
