Controlled by the local Darlington AC this six acre gravel pit, with depths to 18ft is seeing the fishing improve, year on year. Stocks at this emerging, well balanced mixed fishery include chub, bream and tench to alb, roach, rude and die to alb, crucian carp to 12oz and trout.

With the fish growing at a steady pace, only certain baits can be used. On the list are maggot, caster, worm, corn, bread and meat - and they all catch here. In colder weather, float fish in the margins over minimal but regular feed. In the warmer weather, float fish any of the listed bait over the marginal weed.

Fishing is for members only. Full membership to Darlington AC (fees cover many other waters) are: adult £70, 16-21 year olds £30, OAPs with ten years membership £20, under 16s £10.

Barbless hooks only, no keenest from March to June inclusive. Food outlets nearby.

From Darlington take the A167 towards the A66 (M), At the roundabout take the Stapleton Road then turn right towards Cleasby. The lake is through locked gates on your right.
