There are three medium size coarse fishing lakes at Forda, set in the 17 acres of private grounds but all within easy reach of the lodges and cottages. They may be fished free of charge at any time of year and are for the exclusive use of guests.

With only 12 accommodation units (and by no means all occupied by fishermen) this means that there is ample space and opportunity to enjoy the variety of fishing in the three lakes in an uncrowded and natural setting, with an abundance of flora and fauna.

The natural setting encourages a wide variety of birds, including kingfishers and moorhens, and wildlife – on occasion early morning fishermen have even encountered our local roe deer drinking at the lakes. The fishing is ideal for the family fisherman and for those who enjoy a natural environment but less suited to those who prefer a more "commercial" fishery.

Bottom Lake is an oval shape scenic pond, within view of the "A" frame lodges (approx. 56 x 40 metres). It is stocked with golden tench, bream, roach and rudd, ideal for a dabble and for children.

Middle Lake is an irregular triangular shape (approx. 85 x 50 metres), hidden from view of the lodges by woodland and home to carp, bream, roach, rudd and golden tench.

Top Lake is roughly rectangular (approx. 65 x 35 metres) and also hidden from view of the lodges in a natural setting. It is stocked with carp, bream, roach and a few tench and perch.

Visitors enjoy a relaxed environment with as few rules as possible, but they only allow barbless hooks and discourage ground bait, long life boilies and keep nets. It is also a maximum of 2 rods per fisherman. There is a fishing hut where you can leave your gear to save you bringing it back to your accommodation. Night fishing is possible by arrangement.
