Ferryboat Farm Fishery is a mature water that dates back to the 1800s. The once horseshoe shaped lake has now been split into two (Jay and Ella), and there are over 50 pegs to fish that are well suited to the disabled. Although it does hold plenty of F1 carp, being a mature lake it has plenty of other species in it including big carp well into double figures, roach to over 2lb, bream to 7lb+, tench, perch, crucians, rudd, ide, gudgeon and a few chub.

There are more bream in Jay Lake and more carp in Ella. Worm and caster work well for the bream, whilst sweetcorn is the best bet for the larger carp. Tickets should be purchased from the cafe prior to fishing.

To get there, Leave Conisborough on the A6023 heading towards Mexborough. Go straight over the small roundabout and then take the left turn signed for Old Denaby. Once in the village take a right turn by the telephone box onto Ferryboat Lane and down to the fishery.
