This very attractive 4.5acre former brick pit, boasts 54 pegs and several fish species to specimen size. It has depths to 9ft and contains pike to 33lb, carp to 28lb, bream to 12lb, tench to 10lb and crucians to 3lb. There are also some good roach plus rudd, perch, chub, barbel and ide.

Tickets must be bought from the kiosk before fishing and are £5 per day, £3 concessions. Night fishing by prior arrangement is £15 in the summer. Disabled access. Food outlet nearby. For more details visit their website.

From the north end of York pick up the B1363 heading north. Turn right onto the A1237 and when you reach Earswick turn left and follow the road through to Strensall. At Strensall take the road back to Sheriff Hutton and turn left at the caravan park into Pottery Lane. Pass the farmhouse on the left and turn right for the fishery.
