Tring Anglers control the fishing on this secluded, intriguing, feature filled, horseshoe shaped, brook fed, members only mill pond. Depths in the main run up to 5ft.
There are plenty of bankside trees on this 20-peg water that is quite narrow in places. There are carp ranging from 6 to 23lb, bream to 6lb and top quality roach going over 2lb. There are lots of small perch and the occasional tench too.
Try for the carp with legered hair-rigged meat or two or three grains of corn. In the warmer weather bream can be caught on float fished corn. Roach are hardly seen in the summer but can show in the winter to float fished punched bread. Fish to the exact depth and a 2lb fish is not beyond the realms of the impossible.
Fishing is for members of Tring Fishing only. For membership details visit their
website.
From the centre of Ivinghoe take the B489 Station Road, signed Leighton Buzzard. Go down here for half a mile and the fishery is on the left.
