Wimborne DAC has the fishing on this pretty little members-only lake that has a couple of feature islands. It's fairly shallow but there are deeper areas. The lake is a genuine mixed fishery with bream to 7lb and a good head of skimmers, tench to 6lb, chub and perch to 4lb, crucian carp topping 2lb, rudd and golden rudd to 1lb, plus very rare small carp.

Keep things nice and simple here. Float fishing rules the roost, this is an ideal venue for a three or four hour session. It fishes well all year round and all baits work well.

Fishing is for Wimborne DAC members only. For details and pricing, visit their website (http://www.wimbornefishingclub.co.uk/).

To get here, from Wimborne take the A31 towards Bere Regis until you reach the Coventry Arms pub. Turn left here into Brickyard Lane. Go down here for over one mile to Wilkes Gravel Workings on your left. The fishery access is through the locked gate on your left; follow WDAC signs to the right along the gravel track and park in the designated area near the lake.
