Wilstone, at 119 acres, is the largest of the four Tring Reservoirs owned by British Waterways. Steeped in history with visits from late greats such as Dick Walker, Fred J Taylor and Alan Wilson this is a real challenging water.

The days of the specimen bream are long gone, but nature has replaced them with huge potential British record breaking perch to around the 6lb mark. Also present are tench to 14lb, pike to 30lb, some roach to 2lb and almost certainly a few large catfish. The venue is bailiffed by Tring Anglers.

Day tickets, dawn until dusk, are: adults £6 one rod, £10 for two. OAPs, registered disabled, under 14s and evening 5pm to dusk sessions are all £4/£8. Tickets on the bank. Season permits: adult day only £120, day and night £200, concessions £50.

To find the reservoir, pick up the B489 towards Marsworth/Ivinghoe off the A41 in between Tring and Aylesbury. After a short distance the huge reservoir and British Waterways car park are on your right.
